Batson-Cook Texas, LLC Awarded Campus Village Residence Hall Phase 1 Project
Tyler, TX (September 21, 2026) – Batson-Cook Texas, LLC is pleased to announce it has been awarded the contract for the Campus Village Residence Hall Phase 1 project at the University of Texas at Tyler, a student housing development and parking garage designed to address the growing needs of the campus.
“We are honored to partner with the University of Texas at Tyler on this project and help contribute to its growth,” said Kevin Appleton, COO & senior vice president and general manager, Dallas. “This project will provide students with comfortable living spaces while also supporting the university’s long-term vision.”
The new multi-story residence hall will provide accommodations for approximately 390 students and residence staff, offering a mix of traditional two-person dormitory rooms and multi-occupant suites featuring shared living spaces and compartmentalized bathrooms. The project will also feature a variety of indoor and outdoor amenities designed to foster community engagement and academic success. Planned spaces include student lounges, study areas, conference rooms, and laundry facilities.
As part of the campus expansion, the project also includes the construction of a four-story parking garage with 440 spaces that will support the increased campus housing and improve accessibility for residents and visitors.
Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2026 with completion anticipated in the summer of 2028. The project will create opportunities for trade partners across multiple construction disciplines, supporting a broad range of subcontracting and supplier participation throughout the project’s duration.
A trade partner outreach event was held at the offices of Fitzpatrick Architects and was an opportunity for local Tyler area trade partners and VetHUB trades to connect with the project team and learn more about the project. The event provided an opportunity to network with the project team and learn more about the project. For any trade partners interested in participating, the bid due date is Tuesday, September 29 at 4 p.m., and all bids must be submitted through Building Connected.
