The newly renovated lobby at Kerr Hall at the University of North Texas redefines the arrival experience within the university’s largest residence hall, home to more than 900 students. The transformation replaces a dated layout with an open, modern environment that enhances connection and visibility. Phase 1 introduces a centralized welcome desk with clear views of the entry, along with four private staff offices designed to increase access and support. Enhanced security features enable safe, seamless 24/7 entry, while a dedicated game area with two pool tables and a ping pong table adds an active, social element.

Phase 2 builds on these improvements with the addition of communal laundry facilities, a residence hall kitchen, and expanded lounge space. Throughout the project, thoughtfully designed lounges and flexible seating create inviting areas for gathering, studying, and community building, supporting a more connected and elevated residential experience.
